The Christmas season is a time of joy, peace, and love, when we contemplate the miracle of Jesus Christ’s birth. The Bible offers plenty of wonderful verses that talk about this unique moment full of hope and blessing. Take a moment to listen to five uplifting Bible quotes about Christmas.
1st – Isaiah 9:6 (NRSVue)
For a child has been born for us,
a son given to us;
authority rests upon his shoulders,
and he is named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
2nd – Matthew 1:21 (NRSVue)
“[…] She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
3rd – Luke 2:6-7 (NRSVue)
While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no place in the guest room.
4th – John 1:14 (NRSVue)
And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and truth.
5th – Luke 2:10-14 (NRSVue)
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for see, I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!”
This Christmas, while reading the beautiful verses about our Saviour Jesus Christ being born, may we find these words to be a source of joy and peace. Let’s take a moment to quiet down a bit to contemplate the true meaning of Christmas. Let’s find time to show more kindness, forgiveness, and love, to truly experience the peace of this season in our hearts. And let’s keep in mind that the greatest gift we can give is our love and care to those around us. Have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!
